Mr. Mohawk Season 4 starts on SEPTEMBER 17TH! Less than 2 months away! Yes, that's a huge break that we're taking but we're making it up to you in a very special way!
Every SUNDAY and WEDNESDAY, starting tomorrow, when you vote for Mr. Mohawk you will see a page of a short-comic-book-style-story that Joe drew for english called Bounty Spider. The only way you'll be able to see the new page is by voting, it will later be available for viewing on mrmohawk.com! So make sure you still check on Mr. Mohawk every day to vote. The cover of this awesome story, unrelated to Mr. Mohawk (although he does make a cameo) is below...

Despite today's fall-themed comic, it really is the last day of spring. Today was my last final. Tomorrow will be the very first day at summer and I just thought I'd let you all know how we've been here. Although activity has been slow, we've still got tons of comics to put up and Joe's been drawing many more. You may have realized that comics are going up two days late these days, well I promise that within the next week that'll be fixed, which means that there may be a day or two with DOUBLE COMICS! Sounds good? I thought so.
Last summer, Mr. Mohawk was disbanded only to be founded again in the fall, to much detest. Do not fear! MrMohawk.com still promises New Comics Every Day!. Season 4 is expected to end towards the end of July. Right in sync with the weeks that I'm going away. In between Seasons 4 + 5, we're going to give you something different than your regular contest! Get ready it's going to be great! But more on that later, can't give away stuff too soon.
And there are a few pages that are still not working, the etc. page has many things to be added, and one that is long expired (character index). Hopefully these will all be working again soon, but essentially I'm just lazy!
Have a great summer! |

1st Period - Art Class - Late April
National High Five Day had just ended. Jeff and Joe are talking. Jeff: So on the national high five day website there are these comics (Permanent Tanooki - link not currently working). How could would it be if we had our own comic site like that!? Joe: That'd be so cool! And I already have a comic character! Mr. Mohawk!!
First Two Weeks Of May
Jeff set to work on designing a very bland website using one of freewebs that looked a little something like this:

Jeff and Lee Singer were busy with handing out flyers and free lemonade (in tribute to National High Five Day's origins). On MAY 14TH 2007 the very first comic went up. That was the home of Mr. Mohawk for its first 24 comics, (what is now referred to as Season 1) but soon summer came. Jeff's computer and internet connection had a lot of problems. And Mr. Mohawk stopped updating. Joe was still drawing the comics.
When school resumed Jeff promised that he would completely rebegin Mr. Mohawk with a fresh new look and then came the Season format and, for the most part, the design we have today (Finally, early 2007 saw the switch out of freewebs into a private host). 3 seasons, one of 24, another of 74, and another of 47 (the last of the weird numbers before each season will now consist of a solid 50 comics) were born and more continue, with Season 4 beginning at the end of the month!
Mr. Mohawk's not-so-large success can be contributed to many people that made this all happen! -> Mr. Scripture, who reads the comics every single day with us in the morning! That man has got passion! -> Our affiliates, we still have to get the links up to them again! -> All the fans that supported us! (FRIENDS, FAMILY, AND THE RANDOM READERS WHO WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM!) -> Roshan! For lending photoshop to us! Without him, we'd be pencil drawn and paint! -> Our school, for picking Mr. Mohawk as the cover of our Jr. High yearbook! -> Everyone and everything else that I forgot to thank, you mean so much to us
-
Hopefully Mr. Mohawk will one day be a household name, like Tony the Tiger or Charlie Brown ... and seeing our success in the past year, I'm not so sure that that's ONLY wishful thinking!
Here's to many more years of greatness: -Jeff Stern |

One hundred and fifty comics later, Mr. Mohawk is only going to get better! We're going to have a short 1-month break in between Season 3 and Season 4, which will pick up right where the cliffhanger left us. Season 4 is the last black and white season! What's going to happen between these seasons?
-> Put all old comics back up on the site - Finished -> Fix every non-working page still on the site -> Give the character index an extensive makeover -> Promise more rewards for voting every day on Top Web Comics -> Give the site a small makeover - UPDATE (5/1): New Banner, Background gradient color (slightly) changed, might still make alterations
-> Add the POSTER to the Mr. Mohawk Store! DONE! Available in two sizes, you can check out the poster here!
Yep, sorry, no contest this time! But keep reading Mr. Mohawk, tell all your friends, this is the perfect time to get caught up on all the comics you missed!!! |

The sound of a perfect highfive resonates causing those nearby to silently and enviously take notice.
Today was a monumental day for myself! National High Five Day! A day which I've been counting down till since the last one ended on April 20th 2006. It falls every day on the third thursday of April and I heard about it last year. This year we went all-out to celebrate the highfve. A symbol of unity and togetherness, where we can break down the social barriers. It didn't matter if you were young or old, short or tall, one hand or three! The day was celebrated at our Jr. High and it was an incredible experience.
It began from the moment I woke up and stepped on the bus. Everybody got in the spirit (well, of course there's always the exception of a few scrooge-y kids) and gave a high five. Even teachers would celebrate and congratulate their students for a right answer with a high five. There were highfive day shirts (one was a Mr. Mohawk design), perfect high five contests, all you could want. (Well there was no cake, I'll have to make a cake next year!) My history teacher even gave us a short lecture about highfiving and how it's incredible that we can recognize all the diversity in the world.
I brought my video camera to school to film this event, and got tons of footage untill one parent, who was coming into school, saw it and requested it be confiscated. The fact that one parent would ruin it for everyone (I was just planning on making a nice little montage set to music) just because they feared their kid would show up on tape really pissed me off. I'm going to get it back, hopefully tomorrow, but it just dissapoints me that some people are so ... protective! Chill, no-ones gonna stalk your child. The administration in our school, ah, words can't describe how differently I wish they could do things.
But other than that, it was a great day and that night was a Global Language Society Induction where we celebrated, not by giving a handshake, but a highfive! It was a great day and can't wait till the next, when I get to bring it to the high school! Yea, it was fun Great day. Can't wait till next year.
When I get my camera back I'll try and add some stills, of course though, only of people that give me PERMISSION! to put them on the website. !!
Incredible incredible day

Yesterday, Joe (once again, artist of Mr. Mohawk) and friend, Jimmy Mocko, received a Certificate of Appreciation for painting the childrens waiting room in Stony Brook Hospital. Decorating the walls are classic children icons, Fat Albert, Dora, Spongebob, etc—-and of course, Mr. Mohawk (note his new shirt)!

On MrMohawk.com, of course. Just like you. And if you haven't heard of Mr. Mohawk you're eaither (a) a 40-year old virgin sitting in the dark with a family-size (the family wasn't included) bag of Lays and a Mountain Dew trying to find the latest hacks (or porn) and stumbled upon this website, or (b) a caveman (or cavewoman, not trying to be sexist here). Well, no matter who you are, you're about to find out what this part of everyones favorite comic site* is all about!
* - my opinion may differ from yours, however, mine is correct
My name's Jeff Stern, the editor, publisher, and maintainer of Mr. Mohawk. I'm teamed up with Joe, the one that draws the comics. While I take second-stage I'm subject to dealing with many of the questions (sometimes just flat out complaints) like, THIS COMIK AINT WORKINNN!!! *blahblahblah* WHY THE #$@! CANT I BE IN A COMIC? *blahblahblah* I DONT WANNA BE MADE FUN OF IN A COMIC!!!! *waaah*
Well the answers to these questions are "suck it up," "go bungee jump over an active volcano then we'll talk," and "eat a rock" (respectively).
Then I always get the: What do you even do for Mr. Mohawk?, all the time. Oh, but don't worry, I love the site! But I figured that I could use a piece of the site for myself. I'm going to do to MrMohawk.com, what Justin Timberlake did for the Kids Choice Awards. Fill the site up with more unexciting rants and less of the main content (oh, and slime, lots of slime!).
So, I'm here to waste more space on the internet with rambling posts about nothing important (although maybe, if you're lucky, they'll actually be Mr. Mohawk related). So, really, you wouldn't even be able to call this news without the column M3, found below, which I'll use to keep you informed on the latest happenings here at Mr. Mohawk. The rest is crap. So enjoy !

Yep, this is the part that actually talks about Mr. Mohawk, briefly. If I think there's a more important item, I'll give it it's own post. I thought of the name, pretty catchy, if I may say so myself.
- Back-Comics Since I've been lazy about putting the old comics back up on the site since switching over to the new server I decided. Every day there's a new comic, I'll put 5 more of the old ones up. Tomorrow #85-89 will go up, after that 80-84, and so on. Eventually I'll finish!
- The 404 Page - Yep half the site still isn't working, since we've made the switch out of freewebs. However, I do plan on having everything working before Season 4.
- Contest or no contest, that be the question. There will most likely not be a new contest until after Season 4.
- Past winners - On that note, the winners of the 2nd Trivia contest from months ago were announced but then they got lost in the switch to the new site. Once again they are: Eric M., Alex Pi., Anthony M. You'll all get your prize...one of these days.
- Really havin' a party now - The forums are dead. I know you're all great at conversation starting so bring that talent over to the forums.
